Major news outlets like BBC and NBC News reported that Charlie Kirk (31 years old), the CEO of Turning Point USA, passed away after being shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Mobile phone videos of the incident circulating on social media show Mr. Kirk speaking before a crowd outdoors at Utah Valley University when a loud noise, resembling a gunshot, rang out.

Mr. Kirk raised his hand to his neck as he fell off his chair, causing panic and chaos among the attendees. In another video, blood can be seen flowing from Mr. Kirk’s neck immediately after the shot.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox described Charlie Kirk’s death as a political assassination.

It is still unclear whether the suspect has been identified or arrested.

In a social media post around 6:20 PM local time on September 10, FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the “person of interest” had been arrested.

However, just minutes later, in a press conference with an FBI agent present, Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason stated that the suspect was still at large.

Meanwhile, Governor Spencer Cox of Utah mentioned that a suspect was being interrogated in connection with Mr. Kirk’s shooting.

Mr. Kirk’s appearance on September 10 was the first event in a series of 15 “American Comeback Tour” events scheduled at universities across the country. He often uses these events to attract large groups of students and invites attendees to engage in live debates with him.

Kirk has 5.3 million followers on X and hosts a popular podcast and radio show named after himself. Recently, he also co-hosted “Fox & Friends” on Fox News.
